Pyrography literaly means FIRE-PICTURE and it is one of the oldest craft/art forms still practiced today. It is also refered to as Pokerwork and Woodburning, although the term Woodburning is a bit off, as you can burn a variety of surfaces.

I use three different makes of Pyrography "machines":
    An IRONCORE T3/54
made by IRONCORE TRANSFORMERS in Melbourne Australia.
    An ND1
made by PYROGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURING at Kilsyth in Victoria.
    A JANIK G4
made in Wales by JANIK PYROGRAPHY.

You will find Links to these manufacturers on my
    Hot Links Page

The T3/54 and the ND1 are hot wire burners.
The G4 is a hot point burner.

This is art form my main passion. There is seldom a day goes by that I am not Pyrographing something. I was introduced to this fine art medium in 1992 and now it nearly dominates my work day as it now forms around 75% of my commissions.

I Pyrograph onto:

Wood, Leather, Paper, Gourds, Calico, Canvas and Fungi.

I am nearly finished writing a book about the subject. This is my third attempt at getting this book together, the first two died when my computer crashed and I had not backed up my drive.
The book should be available later this year. Notification of it's release will be announced on this Web Site.

I now teach Pyrography at Schools, Adult Educaton and Craft Centres. I quite often demonstrate my art at various field days, Art & Craft shows and other functions.

Obstacles are those frightful things you see
when you take your eyes off your goals.
