Terry "Rip" Everingham is a gentleman, talented artist and
a man in sync with nature. His work reflects his love of the Australian
bush and his seemingly effortless manner of planning and creating
a wood sculpture is mindboggling.
The wood that Rip uses is, basically, recycled. He only uses wood
that has been felled by loggers and landclearing operations and
has been discarded as unusable.
The wood varieties Rip works with are Camphor Laurel, Jackaranda,
White Mahogany, White Beech, Silky Oak, Swamp Mahogany and Cedar,
just to name a few.
Rip's sculpting tools tools include a variety of chainsaws, both
fuel and electric powered, and an angle grinder. The final finish
is usually done by hand with sandpaper.
Rip has been carving for about six years and today his work is
much sought after and his public demonstrations of his skill are
very popular. Rip can carve a full size Koala out of Camphor Laurel
in about 20 minutes.
Rip and his lovely lady Bev are always open to invitations to
demonstrate their wood sculpture at Fairs, Shows, Rodeos and similar
events.
