Pyrography on Pine is a love/hate thing with me. Some pine pieces
burn beautifully, others are woeful.
The two platters in the Gallery are Radiata Pine, the Jewel box lid
is Hoop Pine.
Quite offen there are knots in the pine, these are sometimes an asset
as they can be incorporated in the artwork.
The difficulty with Pine when Pyrographing it is the annoying way
the grain fluctuates in hardness...it requires a steady hand. Pine
is also prone to warping.
For the Pyrography I use either the IRONCORE T3/54 or the ND1. Some
of the finer details are done with the JANIK G4.
