Gully Road is a rollicking Bluegrass band
based in the Manning Valley of New South Wales in Australia.
The band members are:
Banjo: Ron
Unicomb
Guitar: Alan Clarke
Bass: Michael McHattan
Drums: Joe Nichols
They
have just returned from a successful run at the prestigious Carlton
Country Music Festival at Tamworth.
The
festival turned out to be a major success story for Gully Road with
the band performing eight shows at various venues in Tamworth. The
band received a big thumbs up from audiences and critics at each
one of their performances. And their success went beyond their scintillating
on-stage performance. Not only did the band sell virtually all their
CDs, shirts and caps, but their manager Kylie said they have also
secured many more gigs to perform throughout the year. “It looks
as though we will be touring later this year, we have had enquiries
from as far up as Darwin,” Kylie reported. “The boys were a huge
hit in Tamworth and we’ve already been invited back for special
events and, of course, next year’s festival".
Kylie said the band’s Tamworth agent is also looking at the exciting
possibility of putting some shows together with Rock 'N' Roll Legend
Normie Rowe and another show with Fiddle Maestro Pixie Jenkins.
Gully Road could be set to embark on major tour later this year
after having been contacted by centres as far afield as Darwin in
the Northern Terriory.
